VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS /CREDENTIALS
Applicants are required to submit attested (by Gazetted Officer) copies of 

a) Proof of Date of Birth
b) Copy of Passport of the applicant/Nationality Proof (e.g. voters ID Card)

c) 10+2 passing certificate issued by the respective Board of Examination

d) 10+2 mark sheet issued by the respective Board of Examination

e) Certificate of Passing Primary Medical Qualification (i.e. MBBS or equivalent degree certificate ) with mark sheet. Candidates are required to submit copies of degrees, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer. The degrees should be attested either by the Embassy of India or should be Apostilled by the appropriate authority in the Foreign Country.For details regarding Apostilled documents, candidates may refer to the website of Ministry of External Affairs https://www.mea.gov.in

f) Internship Certificate (if done abroad)g) Eligibility Certificate issued by MCI for candidates who joined the Medical Course on or after 15.03.2002) Translated copies (in English / Hindi) duly attested by Gazetted Officer to be furnished if the certificates are in a language other than English / Hindi.i) Equivalence Certificate : From Association of Indian Universities (for candidates who have done 10+2 abroad)

j)Ex-candidates are required to submit a copy of their latest FMGE fail certificate/result.

What is FMGE Exam?

   Medical Council of India Screening Test, also known as Foreign Medical  Graduates Examination, is a licensure examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations in India.

 

  Every student having a degree from MCI recognized medical university from abroad need to give a licensing test (unlike those who pass from India) which is named as FMGE exam or an MCI Screening Test. The MCI screening test for foreign medical graduates is conducted annually twice in June and December. The students return back on completion of MBBS course in the month of June every year and generally go through the crash course for MCI screening test up to September. They prepare from the next 2 months on their own and give their first attempt in December. The exam is conducted by NBE and one can check the website of FMGE

 i)The FMGE-Screening Test has been introduced by the Screening Test Regulations2002. As per the regulations, “An Indian citizen possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.


”ii)NBE is the authority prescribed for conducting the test.

 iii)The screening test is held twice a year at New Delhi on last Sunday of March and September.

 iv)The test is conducted in the English language.

 v)The test consists of one paper.

 vi)There are 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) of single response type in the paper.

 vii) There is NO negative marking. 

 viii) An applicant shall be declared as having passed only if he/she obtains a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 in the examination. 

ix)Results (Pass/Fail) for eligible candidates will be displayed at NBE website andoffice of NBE. Marks obtained shall be declared for all the candidates and also displayed atNBE website www.natboard.edu.in.

 x)The applicants who qualify the Screening Test may apply to the Medical Council ofIndia, New Delhi or to any State Medical Council for provisional registration / permanentregistration.
